Eliot Vassamillet becomes the fourth artist to be confirmed for Eurovision 2019. The Belgian broadcaster RTBF confirmed his participation this morning, announcing that the 18 year old is to represent the nation in Tel Aviv in May.
The young singer becomes the fourth former ‘Voice of Belgium’ singer to represent the nation at Eurovision following previous successful attempts from Blanche (fourth place in 2017), Loic Nottet (fourth in 2015) and Roberto Bellarosa (twelfth in 2013). Although making it on to Team Slimane on the seventh series of the show, Eliot was eliminated in the first of the live shows.
Before this announcement this morning, the fan rumour mill had been working over time with many suggesting another ‘Voice of Belgium’ alum and winner Valentine Brognion could be Belgium’s pick this year.
Although his Eurovision track is yet to be unveiled to the public, Eliot is reportedly working with songwriter Pierre Dumoulin (the man behind Blanche’s ‘City Lights’).
