X-Factor Malta Eliminates Xtreme and 4th Line

X-Factor Malta is one step closer to crowning its winner after tonight’s episode eliminated two more acts. Getting the boot in the second live show is Xtreme and 4th Line.

This week’s theme was ‘Throwbacks’ and the finalists were invited to sing the a range of nostalgic hits from The Fresh Prince’s ‘Boom Shake the Room’ to Plain White T’s ‘Hey There Delilah’.

After the acts had performed the phone lines opened for the public vote. Three acts were announced as being in the bottom: Ben Purplle from the overs category and the last two remaining groups Xtreme and 4th Line.

First to be eliminated was group Xtreme, having received the fewest votes from the public. Then it came to the sing off. Ben sang Goo Goo Dolls’s ‘Iris’, while 4th Line sang Whitney Houston’s ‘Queen of the Night’. The judges then chose which act they wanted to send home. As expected Alden and Mercieca saved their own acts, while The remaining two judges Ira Losco voted out 4th Line and Howard Keith Debono chose to vote out Ben. Deadlock meant they reverted back to the public vote and 4th Line was eliminated having the fewest votes. Alden now has no acts remaining in the contest.

The eight acts that remain are listed below. They will return next week to sing again when there will be another double elimination. The winner of X-Factor Malta will represent the nation at Eurovision 2019. The winner will be announced on 26 January.
