X-Factor Malta moved to the Judges’ Houses segment of the competition this weekend with the first two categories having been decided.

The Girls and Overs categories were finalised tonight and we got the first half of participants for the live shows which will begin in the New Year. Overseeing the Girls category was Howard Keith Debono. He chose to send Kelsey Bellante, Michela Pace and Nicole Frendo to the Live Shows, while Danica Muscat, Jade Vella and Karin Duff were given the boot.

Ray Mercieca meanwhile headed up the Overs category. He sent Ben Purplle, Petra and Franklin Calleja to the finals, while Anna Azzopardi, Anna Faniello and Vanessa Sultana were sent home.

Judges’ Houses will continue next Sunday (30 December) when Ira Losco’s Boys and Alexandra Alden’s Groups will be put through the ringer and the top 12 will be decided. From there, the show will move to live shows which will air on four consecutive weeks, before the winner is chosen on 26 January. The show’s winner will represent Malta at Eurovision 2019.
