The Montenegrin Eurovision Selection for 2019 was thrown into doubt when the broadcaster received only 27 song submissions, and only ten of these were deemed eligible fitting the guidelines set out by RTCG. Despite this, the broadcaster today announced which five acts and songs have made their shortlist.
Returning for another bite of the Eurovision cherry is Andrea Demirovic who represented the nation back in 2009 with her song ‘Just Get Out of My Life’. Although the song narrowly missed out on the final, finishing 11th in the semi final, the song was well liked by fans. Joing Andrea is Montevizija 2018 competitors Nina Petković and Ivana Popović-Martinović as well as Monika Knezović, and rock band D-Moll Band.
In their announcement of the competing artists, the broadcaster made no mention of Montevizija, so it is unclear whether they will go ahead with the televised selection show for 2019 which was expected to air in January, or if they will use an online selection or have the broadcaster choose via a panel of experts.
The full list of competing artists and songs are below:
Andrea Demirović- ‘Ja sam ti san’
D-Moll Band- ‘Ti’
Ivana Popović-Martinović- ‘Nevinost’
