Over the past four weekends, X-Factor Malta has been using the six chair challenge to finalise the contestants that will make it to the Judges’ Houses portion of the competition. This concluded this weekend and we now have the final 24 acts.
Up first was the Girls category on Sunday 25th November. Mentored by Howard Keith Debono, the girls were put through their paces and the top six that were given a place in the next round were Danica Muscat, Jade Vella, Karin Duff, Kelsey Bellante, Michela Pace and Nicole Frendo.
The following week saw Ira Losco make short work of the Boys category. She put Aidan Cassar, Claudio Zammit, Luke Chappell, Mark Anthony Bartolo, Norbert Bondin and Owen Leuellen through to Judges’ Houses.
A week later it was the turn of the Overs category. Their mentor Ray Mercieca chose Anna Azzopardi, Anna Faniello, Ben Purplle, Franklin Calleja, Petra and Vanessa Sultana.
Finally on Sunday, the remaining groups did battle for Alexandra Alden. She put 4th Line, Horizon, Kayati, Prism, Systm12 and Xtreme through.
X-Factor will continue next weekend with the Judges’ Houses where the 24 remaining contestants will perform once more in a bid to make it to January’s live shows. The winner of X-Factor Malta will be chosen to represent the nation at Eurovision 2019.
