Croatia have announced that they are to return to their national selection show Dora for 2019. The competition had been used to select their Eurovision song from 1993 to 2011, but was discontinued due to a string of poor results and was replaced with internal selection up to and including this year.
In a glorious return to Dora, Broadcaster HRT are reportedly set to host a three night music extravaganza in the new year.
On the first night we will be treated to a number of performances which will be accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra. Night two will feature classic hits from previous Dora competitions. While the festival will culminate with the third night in which a total of sixteen artists will fight it out for the honour of representing their nation at Eurovision 2019, following in the footsteps of the likes of Nina Kraljic, Franka, Severina and Jacques Houdek.
The list of competitors and songs are still under wraps, but we expect a big announcement from the broadcaster in the lead up to the festival taking place.
Croatia will be hoping to improve on their 2018 result in which Franka failed to make it to the Grand Final with her song ‘Crazy’.
