United Vibe and Molly Scott eliminated from X-Factor After Fright Night Weekend!

This week was Fright Night on X-Factor. The show, now in its fifteenth series, brought back themed weeks this year and the third week of live shows saw the return of an old favourite just in time for Halloween! It was bad news for United Vibe and Molly Scott who will move to the X-Factor graveyard after tonight’s results.Twelve acts competed in this weekend’s live shows including Ireland’s 2017 Eurovision singer Brendan Murray. Songs performed on the night included Leona Lewis’ ‘Bleeding Love’, Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’, Radiohead’s ‘Creep’ and Britney Spears’ ‘Toxic’. Murray meanwhile performed the 5 Seconds of Summer song ‘Youngblood’.

Murray’s performance gained a mixed reception from the judging panel. Robbie Williams said that ‘…it seems like it’s baby steps in you finding your place as a performer and you’re doing an excellent job’, his wife Ayda Field complimented Brendan’s new hair cut, while Cowell was less impressed (comparing it to Anthony Russell’s performance) he called it ‘lightweight’.

This week’s show was pre-recorded on Saturday afternoon to accommodate Robbie Williams’ tour schedule. The show was fraught with technical difficulties and as a result of sound errors during Danny Tetley and Anthony Russell’s performances, the voting lines only opened during Sunday’s results show rather than on the Saturday.

Twelve became ten tonight. The first act eliminated was United Vibe who came bottom of the public vote. The remaining two acts in the bottom three Acacia and Aaliyah and Molly Scott fought it out in the sing off. Molly Scott sang ‘Human’ by Christina Perri and Acacia and Aaliyah took on ‘Big For Your Boots’ by Stormzy.

The time then came for the judges to cast their votes. Nile Rodgers who was standing in for Robbie Williams and Simon Cowell both saved their own acts. This left Ayda Field who saved Acacia and Aaliyah. Louis Tomlinson also saved Acacia and Aaliyah. This meant that Molly Scott was eliminated.

Ten acts remain and will return next weekend to perform in Movie Night.
