While we were busy preparing for the Eurovision NI Awards at the weekend, Ireland’s Ryan O’Shaughnessy dropped his new single ‘Civil War’ on Friday.
Ryan who was nominated in three categories at the awards and who picked up the prize for Best Video has been busy touring his new album around the island of Ireland these past few weeks.
Ryan represented Ireland at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest with his song ‘Together’ which saw the nation qualify for the final for the first time in five years.
Ryan follows up his Eurovision success with his latest offering ‘Civil War’. It is another beautifully painful ballad with added synth which gives it a retro ’80s vibe.
The song is at its strongest on the powerful pre-chorus and chorus where Ryan exclaims that ‘there’s poison in the apple…this is a civil war, there’s blood on the floor!’.
