Today saw the first day of Eurovision 2018 rehearsals. Ten countries took to the Eurovision stage for the first time to try out their songs in the arena. Fans also got first insights into their finalised staging for the first time.
The first countries to rehearse were Bulgaria, Estonia, Belgium, Czech Republic, Albania, Iceland, Israel, Lithuania, Belarus and Azerbaijan.
Highlights from the day include the Lithuanian singer Ieva perform her song ‘When We’re Old’ being joined on stage by her husband. It would appear that Estonia have managed to raise the funds to be able to transport Elina Nechayeva’s projection dress to the contest. The most impressive staging would seem to be the dramatic plinths and dance routine that accompany the Azeri entry Aisel.
There was some disappointing news as well. During his performance, the Czech representative Mikolas Josef has sustained an injury to his back and has had to be taken to hospital. Hopefully it doesn’t affect his performance going forward.
