10 Things About…Gromee and Lukas Meijer!

Poland’s Eurovision 2018 song sees Gromee team up with Lukas Meijer for ‘Light Me Up’. Get to know the duo better with 10 Things About…

1. Gromee is a Polish DJ, record producer, remixer and songwriter born in Krakow on 14 December 1978.

2. His birth name is Andrzej Gromala.

3. He mainly works in the genres House, Electro-House, Deep-House and Alternative Dance.

4. He began his career in 2010 and has worked with the likes of Ali Tennant, Andreas Moe, Anderz Wrethov, WurlD, May-Britt Scheffer, Mahan Moin, Sound n Grace and Lukas Meijer who he collaborates with for his 2018 song ‘Light Me Up’.

5. Gromee owns his own record label called Kingztown Music, but he also signed a record deal with Sony Music in 2016.

6. At the Eska Music Awards 2017 he won the award for Best DJ/Producer.

7. In March 2018 Gromee teamed up with Lukas Meijer for the song ‘Light Me Up’. The song competed against nine others in the national selection show for Poland’s Eurovision 2018 entry. The pair won winning with a total of 20 points out of a maximum 24 points. They received maximum 12 points with the televote and 8 from the jury.

8. This is Gromee’s second collaboration with Lukas, having released the song ‘Without You’ in 2017.

9. Lukas Meijer was born in Ulricehamn in Sweden.

10. As well as performing with Gromee, he is known for being a vocalist in the band No Sleep For Lucy.
