Eurovision NI’s Song of 2017: How it Works!

Over the next nine weeks we will be looking closely at some of the songs released in 2017 by former Eurovision contestants. We will be asking you to vote for your favourite from the lists before compiling a final Top 30 just before the end of the year.

How It Works

We have scrolled through the Eurovision releases from this year and have divided them into eight groups of 14 songs. Each week on a Monday we will post a different group with the videos for each song and ask you to vote for your three favourites. The polls will then close on the Saturday of that week with the top three songs from each group qualifying for the Top 30, revealed on Sunday. This gives us a total of 24 songs, with the remaining six being chosen by us as wildcards (either songs already on the list that didn’t make it through or new songs released in November and December that missed out on being included at this stage).

All songs included on the list are songs from 2017 that have been released by former Eurovision contestants. We have excluded covers and songs that were competing in the national selection finals (for example Loreen’s ‘Statements’ or Elina Born’s ‘In or Out’ would therefore not be eligible).

When we have the final 30 songs, one final post will ask you to vote for your favourite and then we will reveal the complete top 30.

Check back on Monday for the first group, and in the meantime please leave us a comment if there are any songs you feel should be included in the contest!

Group One (30 Oct- 4 Nov)

Group Two (6-11 Nov)

Group Three (13-18 Nov)

Group Four (20-25 Nov)

Group Five (27 Nov- 2 Dec)

Group Six (4-9 Dec)

Group Seven (11-16 Dec)

Group Eight (18-23 Dec)
