Montenegrin singer Slavko Kalezic impressed the X-Factor judges in his first audition with his trademark plait and an impressive rendition of Beyonce’s ‘End of Time’. He returned to our screens on Saturday evening when he took part in the Boot Camp stage of the competition.
Slavko promised that the judges were going to like what he had in store for them and he was 75% correct about that. His version of Rihanna’s ‘Where Have You Been’, a performance that was so animated his plait actually detached from his head, got a rapturous response from the audience. He received positive feedback from Sharon, Nicole and Louis who persuaded him to enter the competition having met him at Eurovision 2017 in Kiev. Simon Cowell on the other hand was less impressed. He announced that Slavko would advance to the Six Chair Challenge next week, but that the decision was not unanimous.
Lucky for Slavko that Simon has not been put in charge of the Over category this year. Instead the category will be mentored by Nicole Sherzinger and I have a feeling Slavko may just sail through to judges’ houses! Tune in to ITV on saturday and sunday next weekend to find out if he makes it. Also in his category are other former Eurovision contestants Jon Lillygreen (Cyprus, 2010) and Berget (The Netherlands, 2003 national finalist).
