Eurovision NIIt’s been a busy week for Eurovision. Read on to read our recap of all the news, gossip and national finals activity that occurred this week!

1. All of the Big 5 nations have now decided their Eurovision 2017 singers and songs. While the UK picked a number of weeks ago, a surprise announcement came from France this week when they announced that Alma will sing the song ‘Requiem’ for the nation. Full story>>>

2. Italy’s week long selection show Sanremo 2017 took place this week and included special performances from Mika, Robbie Williams, Ricky Martin and Alvaro Soler. Winning the Big Artists contest however was Francesco Gabbani who will sing ‘Occidentalis Karma’ at Eurovision 2017 for Italy. Full story>>>

3. Germany also concluded their search for their 2017 Eurovision artist and song with the Unser Song show. This was won by Levina who will sing ‘Perfect Life’ in Kiev. Full story>>>

4. Spain’s Objetivo Eurovision saw the five hopefuls battle it out to represent the nation at Eurovision. The show was ultimately won by Manel Navarro who’ll sing ‘Do It For Your Lover’ at the 2017 Contest. Full story>>>

5. Lithuania’s Eurovizijos aired the sixth show this week. Eight acts advanced from this semi final round including Mia, Greta Zazzaa and Aistė Pilvelytė. Full story>>>

6. Hungary staged both of the A Dal semi finals this weekend and have narrowed their Eurovision search down to its final eight. Among the contenders are Kallay Saunders Band, Soulwave and Gigi Radics. Full story>>>

7. Israel’s have narrowed their search down to the final four contenders in the Israel’s Rising Star competition. The final will take place next week and will be contested between Imri Ziv, Julieta, Diana Golbi and The Beatbox Nation. Full story>>>

8. Sweden’s Melodifestivalen continued with its second semi final on Saturday. While Mariette and Benjamin Ingrosso directly qualified for the final, Lisa Ajax and Dismissed will have to sing again in the Second Chance show to progress to the final. Full story>>>

9. Estonia kicked off their Eurovision 2017 bid this weekend with Eesti Laul Semi Final One. Five songs have made it through to the final in a fortnight’s time including Elina Born, Ivo Linna and Lenna Kuurmaa. Full story>>>

10. Ukraine’s defence of their Eurovision crown continued with the second Semi Final of their national selection show. The two acts advancing to the final are Rozhden and Illaria. Full story>>>

11. Latvia’s Supernova also continued this week with its second Quarter Final. Progressing to the next round is My Radiant You, Santa Danelevica, The Ludwig and Triana Park. Full story>>>

12. Poland shortlisted the ten finalists for next weeks national selection show Krajowe Eliminacje which will take place on 18th February. Full story>>>

13. Norway have revealed this week the ten songs that will compete in their national final for Eurovision 2017. Full story>>>

14. This week some past Eurovision stars released new music including separate singles from the 2011 Azeri winning duo Ell and Nikki. Eldar’s new single is called ‘Tell Me About Love’ and Nigar’s is ‘Sus’.
