After much rumour, speculation, format changes to the selection process and artists withdrawing themselves as picks for Greece’s 2017 Eurovision artist, Greek broadcaster ERT announced today that they have narrowed it down to just two artists.
The two competitors in the running to be Greece’s Eurovision 2017 entry are MTV EMA nominees and self professed Greek Princess of Pop Demy and male duo and Greek X-Factor finalists in 2016 Stereo Soul.
ERT narrowed it down to these two artists following reports that a national selection show would not go ahead and instead that the artist will be chosen by internal selection. Since then a number of names had been rumoured to be in the running for the Greek choice, but high profile names including the last artist to win for Greece, Elena Paparizou and fan favourite and former Eurovision performer Kalomira either withdrew their bid or remarked how they had no plans to represent their nation at Eurovision in 2017.
A decision is expected from the Greek broadcaster soon. Stay tuned for further updates. Who would you like to see representing Greece in 2017? Vote in our poll!
