Israel’s Eurovision selection show ‘Hokokhav Haba’ aka ‘Israel’s Rising Star’ will return for its third edition in the New Year.
The show had previously crowned the Nadav Guedj and Hovi Star as their winners and both artists went on to represent Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest finishing in 9th and 14th place respectively.
Hosted by Rotem Sela, Assi Azar and Yael Goldman, the 2017 edition of the talent search show will begin airing its new season on 2nd January and will broadcast a total of 10 shows. Due to the later start date and the limited number of showed, we expect it to be a scaled back version of previous years.
There is also a change to the judging panel line up which will now consist of five judges: Asaf Amadursky, Harel Skaat, Keren Peles, and duo Static and Ben-El Tavori
Among the contestant line up is a few familiar faces including the sexy 2015 and 2016 Eurovision backing singer Imri Ziv and a number of artist who performed in Kdam (predecessor selection show to Israel’s Rising Star) including Meital De Razon and Julieta.
