The BBC today have unveiled their plans for selecting their Eurovision act and song for 2017. The UK’s national broadcaster will use the same format as last year, a selection show voted for by the public called You Decide.
You Decide will air on Friday 27th January from 7.30 lasting an hour and a half and will feature six artists and songs. The songs, as was the case in 2016, will be premiered on BBC Radio 2’s Ken Bruce Show on the week of the TV broadcast.
The televised show will be upgraded from its BBC Four slot to BBC Two, meaning that it will be more accessible to a wider audience. Also returning to host in 2017 will be Bake Off’s Mel Geidroyc who this year will be joined by an expert panel on hand to share their thoughts on the performances and songs.
The venue for the show has also got bigger, moving from the smaller O2 Forum to the Hammersmith Apollo. Tickets for the show start from £34.25.
