Georgia have declared that they will stage a televised national selection show to choose their act and song for Eurovision 2017. Broadcaster GPB announced today that 27 acts are in the running to be considered for selection.
Among the field are previous Eurovision hopefuls Eter Beriashvili (who has teamed up with Brendon Stouni) and Misha Sulukhia who both missed out on being selected in 2015 to Nina Sublatti who won with her song ‘Warrior’ and singer Tako Gachechiladze who was a member of the controversial group Stephane & 3G whose song ‘We Don’t Wanna Put In’ was disqualified following the ruling that the lyrics were a blatant political statement against Russian President Vladimir Putin.
