In the same week that Finland have announced the 10 contenders for UMK 2017, one of last year’s participants and runner up Saara Aalto has really managed to turn things around for herself on X-Factor UK. The Finnish singer has been competing in the UK’s X-Factor Series 13 and this week she advanced to the Top Five.Saara initially didn’t make it through Boot Camp but was brought back by Nicole Scherzinger as part of a wild card twist. Since then she has been under the mentorship of Sharon Osborne. The ‘No Fear’ singer got off to a rusty start, failing to make a connection with the voting public and finding herself in the bottom three in the first two weeks and then again in week five. On all three occasions Saara was saved by the judges.
Saara has wowed the judges and public alike in the past few weeks when she has been allowed to show off her more quirky side. This included performances of Bjork’s ‘Oh So Quiet’, Lady Gaga’s ‘Bad Romance’ and put her own twist on Girls Aloud’s ‘Sound of the Underground’.
The theme for this weekend’s shows will be ‘Louis Loves’ and will see the acts perform two songs each for the first time. The Final of X-Factor will be contested between three acts over the weekend of 10th/11th December. But who do you think will be crowned the X-Factor champion 2016?
