Jedward to Make a Record with Dido?

Jedward Dido EurovisionCould Irish Eurovision twins John and Edward Grimes be about to duet on new material with Noughties ballad legend Dido? It would appear so from a recent tweet that the ‘Lipstick’ singers shared on their social media account on Wednesday 28th September.

The tweet in question included the photo above of the three singers together and with the words ‘We’ve Been Waiting 🙂 @didooffical GET ON THAT MIC 🎤

Dido is best known for her song ‘Thank You’ which was sampled by American rapper Eminem for his song ‘Stan’ and which also featured Dido, giving her her first and only UK number one to date. Dido has had a string of other hit singles including ‘Life For Rent’, ‘Hunter’, ‘Sand in My Shoes’ and ‘White Flag’ which featured Buffy the Vampire Slayer hunk David Boreanez in the video. Since then all has been relatively quiet on the Dido front.

Pairing up with the two time Irish Eurovision representatives may seem like a bizarre choice especially considering that Dido is known for slow ballads and Jedward for their enthusiastic high energy performances. However Dido has in the past collaborated with some unusual musical acts. As already mentioned she teamed up with Eminem for ‘Stan’, but also remember her collaborative effort ‘One Step Too Far’ with dance act and her brother Rollo’s band Faithless?

Dido is said to have been writing material for her untitled fifth studio album as far back as 2013, we await confirmation if Jedward will appear on it.
