Boy band Blue who competed at Eurovision 2011 with song ‘I Can’, celebrate their fifteen year anniversary in the music business today. The band’s official Facebook page posted the photo below of members Lee Ryan and Duncan James with the caption ‘Because no matter what we do, we will always be blue… #15YearsOfBlue.
The foursome who also includes Simon Webbe and Antony Costa have a string of top ten hits in their back catalogue including ‘All Rise’, ‘Too Close’, ‘Fly By II’, ‘One Love’, ‘Guilty’ and ‘Bubblin” as well has high profiled collaborations with Elton John, Kool and the Gang and Stevie Wonder.
After a six year hiatus, the band reformed in 2011 to represent the UK at Eurovision, giving the nation one of their best results in recent years finishing in eleventh place. ‘I Can’ would be the lead single from new album ‘Roulette’.
The band members have also had successful solo projects with Simon Webbe scoring top ten hits with ‘Lay Your Hands’ and ‘No Worries’ as well as appearing on the twelfth season of Strictly Come Dancing. Lee Ryan meanwhile released songs ‘Turn This Car Around’ and ‘Army of Lovers’, had a stint as a love rat on Celebrity Big Brother and Duncan James recently had a guest role in soap Hollyoaks, was a judge on Channel Five reality show ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ and duetted with Keeley on ‘I Believe My Heart’.
The band reformed again as part of ITV’s Big Reunion, joined the accompanying tour and opened their our bar in Ibiza as part of ITV’s ‘Blue Go Mad In Ibiza’. Which Blue song is your favourite? Vote in our poll:
