This week I began my countdown of my Top 100 Eurovision Songs from the past ten years. Yesterday I revealed those songs that placed 91-100, today I will count down the songs that placed from 81-90, join me tomorrow when songs 71-80 will be posted! Read on to find out if your favourites have made the list so far!

The Method

Over the past few days I have watched each of the Eurovision Song Contests from 2007-2016. From each of these shows I picked my ten favourite songs and it is these one hundred songs that are eligible to be considered for the Top 100. Below are songs 81-90.

  1. 90 – Surprised this didn’t do slightly better in 2011. I don’t mind the song, but it’s not nearly as amazing as some think it is.
    89 – I did like Elnur’s tune at first, but then went off it quite a bit. Didn’t think much of his performance.
    88 – I like it, but not keen on her attire.
    87 – Don’t mind it, but no surprise it didn’t qualify for the final. Denmark need to send something more memorable.
    86 – Not a bad song, but in retrospect, deserved the placing it got.
    85 – My second favourite from 2015 – superb performance I think. Decent vocals, simplistic staging, very effective. Public should’ve given it more points.
    84 – Always liked it, deserved a slightly higher finish.
    83 – My favourite from ’09 – one of the best of the century in my opinion. If only Rybak was nowhere to be seen…
    82 – Again, don’t mind it, but I can sort of see why it finished last.
    81 – Ah, one of our poorest. At least it’s fun and relatively upbeat – not the best choice from the UK public that year!
