After three semi final rounds over the past three weeks, Finland’s UMK Eurovision selection show staged its final earlier tonight. The act that will represent Finland at Eurovision 2016 will be: Sandhja!
The result will have come as a shock to many Eurovision fans who had hotly tipped the honour to go to Saara Alto who finished second with ‘No Fear’ or third place Mikael Saari with ‘On It Goes’. Sandhja’s win can be attributed to her high jury score which was 26 points more than nearest rival. Sandhja didn’t fare so well in the televote where she finished in third place a good 17 points behind second place in the televote.
However a combined score puts her in first and her song ‘Sing It Away’ will represent Finland in Stockholm in 2016. Finland will compete in the first semi final on 10th May.
Have Finland made the right choice? Was another song more deserving? We want to hear from you!
