Sanremo 2016: Night 2 Results


Sanremo Italy Eurovision 2016The second of Italy’s Sanremo shows took place last night with ten more of the big artist acts perfroming. Of these ten,  six came top of the rankings while the other four were at risk of being eliminated. In addition to this the first of the new artists performed in ‘battles’. Four of these acts faced off against each other, with two progressing to the final and two getting eliminated. The overall winner will be crowned on Saturday on the final evening and will be given first refusal at representing Italy at Eurovision 2016. Read on to find out which acts came top and which are at risk of being eliminated.

Top of the Vote:

Clementino “Quando sono lontano”

Patty Pravo “Cieli immensi”

Valerio Scanu “Finalmente piove”

Francesca Michielin “Nessun grado di separazione”

Elio e le Storie Tese “Vincere l’odio”

Annalisa “Il diluvio universale”

At Risk of Elimination:
Zero Assoluto “Di me e di te”

Neffa “Sogni e nostalgia”

Alessio Bernabei “Noi siamo infinito”

 Dolcenera “Ora o mai più (le cose cambiano)”

Meanwhile in the two new artist semi final battles Chiara Dello Iacovo was triumphant over Cecile winning 64% of the vote with song ‘Introverso’. While Ermal Meta’s ‘Odio le favole’ got 59% of the vote against Irama’s ‘Cosa Restera’.


Sanremo continues tonight, with all twenty Big Artist acts competing with covers of popular songs that have been translated into Italian or are Italian classic hits, as well as the other two semi final duels for the new artists.
