Spain have chosen Barei and her song ‘Say Yay!’ as their entry for Eurovision 2016. The decision came following the staging of their national final Objetivo Eurovision earlier tonight.
Barei beat off competition from the other five contenders Electric Nana, Xuso Jones, Maverick, Salvador Beltran and Maria Isobel to be crowned the winner. The winner was decided by a combination of televoting (40%) artists jury (30%) and international jury (30%). Although Salvador Beltran was in the lead following the international jury, strong results from Barei in the artist jury (made up of Loreen, Edurne and Carlos Marin) and televote helped her secure the win.
