Eurovision Bulgaria 2016

Without meaning to cause offence, Bulgaria are one of the biggest losers at Eurovision. The country has competed a total of nine times since their debut in 2005, however they have only managed to qualify for the final of Eurovision once. The time they did qualify they came in fifth with song ‘Water’ by Elitsa & Stoyan. The duo also returned to Eurovision in 2013 (the last time Bulgaria competed) with ‘Samo shampioni’ which came twelfth in the semi final.

Following their two-year absence, Bulgarian national broadcaster BNT confirmed that they would return to the contest in 2016. On 24 January 2016, BNT announced via their official Twitter account that they had internally selected a female performer to represent the Bulgaria in Stockholm. The song has yet to be selected but will also be determined through an internal decision process. Stayed tuned for more details soon.

    1. Hi Risa, thanks for your comment. I do recall her performance at Eurovision in 2013 and remember it being very energetic! Very talented lady indeed! Hopefully we’ll get more info on the Bulgarian entry soon. Could well be Elitsa again! 🙂
