1994 Eurovision winner Charlie McGettigan will play an ‘In the Round’ concert as part of the 2016 Belfast Nashville Songwriters’ Festival. The festival will take place at various venues in Belfast from 2nd-6th March and other acts include former D-Side Singer turned country singer Derek Ryan, Stephen Bishop, Iain Archer, Liam O’Maonlai and John Spillane.
Charlie McGettigan’s Eurovision credentials not only include winning the 1994 contest for Ireland with Paul Harrington with the song ‘Rock N Roll Kids’, but he also penned one of the songs in the running for the Irish selection in 2015- Kat Mahon’s ‘Anybody Got a Shoulder’. His ‘In the Round’ concert will take place in the Clayton Hotel from 9.30pm on 3rd March and will see him perform alongside Krista Detor and Colum Sands. Tickets are priced at £12 and are available from the Visit Belfast Welcome Centre or from the BelNash Website.
The Belfast Nashville Festival is an annual festival that celebrates the art of song writing, bringing together award-winning talent from around the world. The songwriters’ festival and song writing convention celebrate established and new young talent across a number of genres including Jazz, Country, Folk and Bluegrass.
