Stephanie Polazzo, one of the six contenders vying to be the Swiss representative in this year’s Eurovison has been disqualified. The announcement came when it was revealed that her song ‘Perché mi guardi Cosi?’ had been in the public domain before the deadline of 1 September.
The disqualification means that there is an opening in the Swiss national selection final which will take place on 13th February 2016. This place will go instead to the band Kaceo who will compete with their ‘Disque D’Or’.
They too however, may also be disqualified. Eurovision rules state that songs aren’t allowed to contain explicit lyrics which ‘Disque D’Or’ does, nor are they allowed to contain the names of brands (their song mentions porn website YouPorn).
