Australian Commentator Disses UK’s Entry

Eurovision 2015 UK Australia Julia ZemiroAustralian commentator for SBS, Julia Zemiro, has dissed the UK’s song for this year’s contest at the opening ceremony for the Eurovision on Sunday. In an interview with Wiwibloggs, the host was asked if there was a friendly rivalry between first time entrants Australia and the UK. Her response was clear as she said that not only are Australia likely to beat the UK, but that it wouldn’t be hard for them to do so.

Zemiro also suggested that many of the fans from the UK even greatly dislike the song but that who knows, anything can happen on the night and the voting could go any number of ways. The commentator also went on to say that anything above the bottom ten would be a success for the Aussies, but she would really like to see Guy Sebastian finish in the top three. Catch the short interview in full below.

What do you think of the UK’s song from Electro Velvet? Do you agree with Julia, or do you think it’s better than Guy Sebastian’s ‘Tonight Again’? You can have a look at what we thought of the UK entry when we reviewed it here, and Australia’s song is reviewed here.

  1. To be fair, our UK song this year (as on previous years) is rubbish. We have so many amazing, talented song writers in this country…so why are our songs always so poor?
