Last night saw Ireland’s Eurovision hopeful Molly Sterling return to the Late Late Show to perform her song ‘Playing With Numbers’. Molly was accompanied by Greg French who co-wrote the song with Molly and gave a brief interview with host Ryan Tubridy before her updated rendition of her Eurovision song.
In the interview Molly revealed just how excited she was to be going to Vienna early next week to begin the rehearsals for the second semi final show which she will compete in on May 21st. She recalled her shock from the Eursong Late Late special in February when she was chosen to be Ireland’s entry beating stiff competition from four other acts. She was so unprepared for the eventuality of winning that she didn’t even have a passport sorted for travelling to Austria to compete.
Molly has also revealed on the show that during her time in Vienna she will be one of four Eurovision competitors who have been chosen to perform at a special concert at Vienna’s Opera House. The concert Pop Meets Opera will take place on 17th May and was meant to feature a special duet between Placido Domingo and last year’s winner Conchita Wurst, but unfortunately it was revealed earlier this week that due to health reasons the tenor has had to pull out. Instead he will be replaced by Peruvian singer Juan Diego Florez.
