This week saw the results of our fourth Top 40 Poll and it was Russia’s Polina Gagarina who came out on top again for the third week in a row. Not much has changed in the Top 5 with Italy still in second place, Spain and Slovenia swapping places, now in third and fourth respectively and Maria Olafs from Iceland rounds up the top five, remaining in fifth.Read on to see the Top 40 in full. Armenia had probably the most interesting concept for choosing their Eurovision entry out of all countries in 2015. They proposed to symbolically reunite the Armenian diaspora who had been forced to move abroad following the Armenian genocide of 1915 by forming a band out of representatives from five continents- Europe, Asia, Africa, Americas and Oceania, as well as having a sixth member from Armenia. The result was the band Genealogy and their song is ‘Face the Shadow’.
Finland, the country that brought us masked heavy metal band Lordi in 2006, return to their Eurovision rock roots this year with their 2015 song ‘Aina Mun Pitaa’ by punk band PKN. Read on for the full review of the song.
