On 7th April the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna became home to the Eurovision for the 2015 Contest. The first of 350 trucks arrived bringing with them 3,500 tons of equipment needed to set up for the shows in May.
On the 9th April the technician began installing the lighting rig for the Eurovision extravaganza (see picture above). A number of cameras have been installed to facilitate a time capture video that will demonstrate the amount of work it took to go into setting up the stage and equipment.
Security is also a major factor for the contest with security barrier, x-ray scanners and even sniffer dogs preparing the venue for the thousands of people expected to descend on the arena next month. Head of security detail, Herbert Wagner has said ‘We have our own x-ray devices like at the airport or at any other event’, intimating that security is something that officials take very seriously.
