After weeks of voting in our polls, you have crowned Conchita Wurst’s 2014 winning song ‘Rise Like a Phoenix’ as your favourite Eurovision song ever. She proved to be unstoppable as she won by quite a large margin with 82% of the vote (2077 votes) in the final round. In second place was Sweden’s Loreen with ‘Euphoria’ which despite a late surge in votes only managed 10% of the overall total. Alexander Rybak’s ‘Fairytale’ was in third with 7% and Common Linnets’ ‘Calm After the Storm’ and ABBA’s ‘Waterloo’ were fourth and fifth respectively, both with less than 1% of the vote.
It was announced earlier this week what the opening act of the Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final will entail. The 2015 ceremony will kick off with a video from Schonbrunn Palace of Vienna’s Philharmonic Orchestra playing the music of Mozart and Beethoven.
