Ever since the UK announced that they would reveal their Eurovision act on 7th March, speculation has been rife as to who it would be. Initial reports seemed to be that it would be an unknown but die hard fans are hoping for something a bit more that will generate a bit of buzz. What we do know however is that the choice will be revealed on Saturday night from 9.30pm on the BBC’s Red Button Service. Below is a list of a few of the names that have popped up in the press in the past few weeks.
The whole of Europe were shocked when the German pick Andreas Kummert turned down the opportunity to represent his country on Thursday night after being voted for by the public with his song ‘Heart of Stone’. Conchita Wurst’s ‘Rise Like a Phoenix’ continues to dominate our polls having come out on top in the first of our semi finals. The song has now qualified for our top ten show down starting in two weeks time. The Austrian singer received a staggering 87.37% of the vote.
Time now for the second of our Semi Finals in our quest to crown the best Eurovision song ever. We have narrowed out search down to the final 16 and it’s time to let your voice be heard.
