Iceland have spoken and have chosen Maria Olafsdottir and her song ‘Unbroken’ as their entry for Eurovision 2015. The song was chosen from a list of seven participants who had qualified for the final of Songvakeppnin over the last fortnight from the two semi finals in Iceland’s national selection process.
Olafsdottir was chosen over Fridrik Dor’s ‘Once Again’ in a head to head battle after making it to the final two over other participants Cadem’s “Fly”, Sunday’s dark performance of “Feathers”, Björn og félagar’s creepy rendition of “Piltur og stúlka” complete with cardboard cut out children, lack lustre Elín Sif Halldórsdóttir’s “Dance Slow” and Haukur Heiðar Hauksson “Milljón augnablik”.
Iceland join the ten other nations who have selected their entries including Denmark, France, Spain, Belarus, Cyprus, Switzerland, Malta, Georgia, Macedonia and Czech Republic.
