Italy crowns Il Volo as winner of Sanremo

After a week of concerts, Italy have crowned Il Volo as the winner of Sanremo 2015. The Contest is the inspiration for the Eurovision Song Contest and this year offers the winner the opportunity to represent Italy in Eurovision 2015. The contest sees 20 established ‘Big Artist’ acts battle it out over five nights.

Iceland have spoken and have chosen Maria Olafsdottir and her song ‘Unbroken’ as their entry for Eurovision 2015. The song was chosen from a list of seven participants who had qualified for the final of Songvakeppnin over the last fortnight from the two semi finals in Iceland’s national selection process.

Lithuania choose ‘This Time’ as their Song for Eurovision 2015

Lithuania have chosen ‘This Time’ as their song for Eurovision 2015 tonight. Who will perform the song at Eurovision has yet to be decided. Still in the running are Mia, Monika Linkyte and Vaidas Baumila. Lithuania will decide who their performer is next weekend when each of the contenders will perform the winning song on stage. The second heat of Melodifestivalen took place tonight 14th February in Malmo and was presented again by Sanna Nielssen and Robin Paulsson. Proceedings kicked off with a slapstick song and dance number by the two presenters called ‘Vad Kan Ga Fel?’ or ‘What Could Go Wrong?’.
